Dynamic Simulation Program for the Design and Yield Calculation of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems

Overview

You would like to forecast and optimize the yield and economic efficiency of a grid-connected PV system? We’ve got the right simulation program for this—PV*SOL® Pro.

The program helps planners, installers, specialist fitters, and architects to accurately design, plan, and optimize PV systems. Up to six partial generators with varying orientations can be designed and simulated with a range of modules and inverters.

Program Details

Module-Inverter Configuration

With its convenient quick design feature, PV*SOL® Pro gridcon calculates all viable configuration combinations of modules and inverters in a matter of seconds. PV*SOL® Pro gridcon orders the configurations by sizing factor. The number of modules to be connected in series per string and inverter input are also displayed.

Component Database

The extensive module and inverter database currently contains data on around 7,300 modules and 1.700 inverters, which are constantly updated and expanded with an automatic update function. The components are kept current by the respective manufacturers themselves, checked by us, and regularly made available to you, so that you are always up to date.

Climate Data Tool MeteoSyn

MeteoSyn Climate Generator

MeteoSyn’s climate database contains over 8000 data records. You can easily select climate data from an interactive map. Alternatively, you can select the sites from a list. You can also create additional new climate data by interpolation using existing measurements. 

 

Photo Dimensioning with Photo Plan

The integrated photo dimensioning programme Photo Plan is a visualization tool to quickly and easily create your customer’s roof. With a photo and a reference dimension, the roof and the planned PV system can be presented photorealistically. The program can also determine all essential roof dimensions. You only need a few minutes to create your customer’s roof with its very own PV system, according to your customer’s wishes. Photo Plan is therefore a great tool to help home owners make the right decision!

Shading Editor

PV*SOL® Pro gridcon allows shading analysis per partial generator in which objects such as buildings and trees and the horizon are taken into account.

Simulation

PV*SOL® Pro gridcon runs a yield simulation on the basis of the values entered. This is based on a mathematical model which enables exact reproduction of the characteristic curve for every PV module contained in the database. You can also use it to precisely calculate yields from thin-film modules. Various types and orientations of modules in a PV system are taken into account by pooling module groups as photovoltaic partial generators.

Economic Efficiency Calculation

In PV*SOL® Pro gridcon, you can enter detailed costs for modules, inverters, and mounting. Loans take into account discounts, amortization, and tax payments, as well as the month a system is started up. The EU’s varying remuneration for systems up to 30 kW and above, the graded rates for systems on roofs, on building facades, and in open areas are already integrated and can be modified where required. On the basis of VDI guideline 2067, PV*SOL® Pro gridcon calculates electricity generation costs and the pay-back time in addition to the capital value.

 The user also has the option to

  • enter annual depreciation
  • draw up annual expenses by entering individual items with statements on varying useful life
  • use tariffs for Germany and Spain as predefined files
  • set up further tariffs
  • print out the results with a range of graphs and tables
Results

PV*SOL® Pro gridcon makes a one-page and/or detailed exportable project report available to your customer. The project report contains the following information:
