Solar Local District Heating Module
The “Solar Local District Heating” module is a tool for designing and simulating solar-supported local district heating systems. T*SOL Expert can use it to display the key system variants with regard to the network structure, the consumption system in adjoining buildings, and the integration of the solar system in the local district heating network. The module was developed together with ZfS-Rationelle Energietechnik GmbH on the Solarthermie 2000plus program.
The Solar Local District Heating module uses both existing and new components developed as part of the T*SOL® Expert concept. Proficient users of T*SOL® can therefore use the program without any special further training to present reliable results to their customers.
The Solar Local District Heating module contains the following features:
up to six collector arrays can be defined, connected with the power station via a freely definable solar network. The power station consists of a buffer tank and the boiler system in three variants:
- Dual coil buffer tank with integrated auxiliary heating as boiler buffer (see ex. 1)
- Single coil buffer tank with serial boiler connection (see ex. 2)
- Single coil buffer tank with secondary boiler buffer tank (see ex. 3)
Using a freely definable local district heating network, it is possible to connect the power station with up to six heat transfer stations, which are also available in three basic variants:
- Flow system for apartment transfer stations (see ex. 2)
- Tank loading system (see ex. 1 and 2)
- Tank loading system with return cooling and thermal disinfection (see ex. 3)
Every heat transfer station contains a central heating supply system.
The program was validated by ZfS-Rationelle Energietechnik GmbH. TRANSYS simulations of solar networks from the Solarthermie 2000 program served as a reference. The comparison of results from both programs was used to determine a high level of consistency between TRANSYS and T*SOL® Expert.
